Character NAME: Sam Winchester
Canon & MEDIUM: Supernatural
Canon PULL-POINT: Post S4.
Character AGE: 25
Character ABILITIES:
As a hunter, Sam has fighting skills that would rival any soldier's, because that's how he was raised. His father was a Marine who made sure both of his sons were well-versed in hand-to-hand combat, as well as being proficient with firearms and other weapons, and first-aid. He can also pick locks, hack computers, hot-wire cars, and is just an all-around skilled con artist. He's intelligent, familiar with just about all things supernatural, and also has a tattoo which protects him against demon possession.

His less natural abilities include premonitions, which he's had while both awake and asleep, as well as telekinesis. He can exorcise and even kill demons with his mind. These things require him to drink demon blood however, and given the circumstances and his canon point, Sam will be unable and unwilling to use them.

Character HISTORY: The Road So Far.
Character PERSONALITY:
If you asked Dean Winchester to describer his brother Sam, he would say that he's a bitch, a nerd, and occasionally a chick. Add "freak" and "moose" and you'd come pretty close. But all of those things deserve elaboration.

It would be easy to call Sam the "smart" Winchester, if mildly misleading. Yes, he does the research, and he's good at it. He's the one who went to Stanford and was headed to law school while Dean got his G.E.D. But both brothers have their share of street smarts, and a lot of it is things that Sam wishes he didn't know, things he wishes he had no reason to know. Sam just wanted to be a normal guy with a normal, safe life. He's always been desperate for it, always wanted the life of your average kid. Part of this stems from the fact that he doesn't remember his mother or what happened to her. He only knows that he was raised like a soldier, and one who was drafted. After Jessica's death, he got back in the game a little more willingly. But he has gone from just following orders to having a bit of a stubborn streak.

Sam is someone who carries a lot of guilt, something that seems to run in the Winchester family. He's been through the trifecta of pain: physical, mental, and emotional. He doesn't always share what's eating at him, not even with Dean, who is without a doubt the closest person to him. This makes him a bit of a hypocrite since he's gotten on Dean for bottling things up before. But Sam's kept his share of secrets, especially the ones that revolve around the demon blood inside of him. He's a little more introverted than his brother, thinks things through a little more. He's also the more patient one, especially when it comes to people. He can be compassionate, empathetic, and knows that things aren't always simply black or white.

Sam has emotions, though some of them can get pretty dark. Anger, guilt, and self-loathing, Sam has all of these in spades. Finding out that he's a freak who has demon blood inside of him was quite a blow for someone whose greatest dream was just to be normal. These feelings aren't exclusive to Sam, or even the Winchester family. Hunters carry baggage, and it could be argued that Sam deals with it better than most. Dean finds a bar, Sam's more likely to be getting ready for the next hunt. But the feeling that he's a monster is always there.

Sam is also a very protective person - that comes with the job. As Dean once put it: "Saving people, hunting things. The family business." He can be insanely focused and dedicated to a hunt. How else would you describe someone who's willing to dig up corpses and fight monsters? But there's nothing business-like about it where Dean is concerned. They might fight or play practical jokes on each other, but at the end of the day Sam would die for his brother without a second thought. He's always looked up to him, and he probably always will. For Sam, his brother is simultaneously a weakness and his greatest source of strength.

As for his father, they locked horns a time or two. But the fact is, the two of them were just a little too much alike, strong-willed and sometimes a little too quick to sacrifice themselves. As much as he loves his family, Sam also has an independent streak, one that came across loud and clear when he decided to go to college instead of continuing to hunt. Even after returning to the life, he makes decisions that he knows Dean wouldn't want him to make, and acts like he knows it all when the truth is that he simply...doesnt'.

Sam isn't quite naive enough to be called an optimist, but he's proven that he can hold on to hope, and even have faith in the traditional sense. Angels and God were things that were easier for him to accept and believe in than they were for Dean (even though the former turned out to be dicks and the latter absent). But sometimes those things can be used to manipulate him too. Despite his strong sense of right and wrong, Sam often walks a fine line between the two. Sometimes in trying to make things better, Sam just makes them worse - like that whole 'starting the Apocalypse' thing. Sam's good intentions have literally put him on the road to hell.

First PERSON:
[It isn't his laptop, but he manages to figure out the basics in short order. So have a patented pair of Sam Winchester's puppy dog eyes staring at the screen.]

Uh - hey. I'm not sure if anyone else out there can really hear me. To tell you the truth, I'm still not convinced that any of this is real.

[Sure, he's seen more than his share of strange things. But his dreams have been equally bizarre. He's sort of hoping for the latter.]

I'm looking for someone. His name is Dean.

[Or maybe he's under an alias. But he really doesn't feel like covering the list that ranges from "Dr. James Hetfield" to "Sigfried Houdini"]

He's got brown hair, brown leather jacket, hazel eyes - I think. Anyway, if anyone can hear me, and they see him, tell him...tell him that his brother is looking for him.

And that I'm sorry.

Third PERSON: (In the game's setting. Hope that's okay!)
He just arrived and he already had a headache.

It wasn't from a hangover. Sam didn't normally drink enough to really suffer the next morning. And even Bobby's homebrew wasn't as disgusting as what he had been drinking lately. Sam had a headache because he'd just arrived, and already his head was being filled with ridiculous amounts of information. He tries to take in all that he's being told, things about allowances and housing, like he's expected to stay here for awhile. He almost wants to laugh. Since when has he stayed in one place for very long?

But Sam's good with information: he remembers it, processes it. He does a hell of a lot better than Dean. But it was all just too much right now, when the last thing he remembered was breaking the final seal that was holding back the Apocalypse.

And maybe this is the result. If this is really the future, is it his future? He tries to ask about angels and demons, about Dean and Lucifer, but he doesn't get any answers in return. He'll have to find those on his own, if they're even out there.

He panics, but it's brief, and rational thinking takes its place. This world isn't without its share of problems, and it gradually dawns on Sam that if he's stuck here, he should try to help these people. It won't make up for what he's done, nothing will. And he won't stop looking for a way back home either. But he's been brought into the middle of a war. There's the weight of a familiar weapon in his hand. And what else is he, if not a soldier?

From somewhere in the back of his head, a voice whispers. You're still a monster.
